Bon alog

Bon Alog is a Vienna-based video artist and experimental filmmaker whose work navigates the space between fiction and documentary. Working across film, installation and photography, she examines image-making as a process through which history and memory are mediated. She is a co-founder of the experimental film lab Spongė in Vilnius and a member of filmkoop wien.

About the WORK IN PROGRESS

Filmverkstaden is happy to present the outcome of the Analogue Adventure residency of Bon Alog.

This public screening presents material developed at Filmverkstaden and introduces an ongoing essay film project currently in formation. Using analogue interventions, including manual processing and experimental print-based methods, the footage is activated as a site of transformation, where traces of the past surface through ordinary actions, recurring behaviours and functional structures that endure over time. The project resists event-based narratives, instead attending to continuous states of preparedness as they permeate environments and social routines. By combining archival fragments, observational sequences and constructed scenes, the film destabilizes conventional historical sequencing and questions the coherence of established accounts. The work-in-progress format foregrounds incompletion, allowing memory to emerge as contingent and unsettled, oriented as much toward anticipation as toward recollection.

Their residency program has been kindly supported by Nordic Culture Point, Konstsamfundet, Taike, Svenska Kulturfonden and Vaasa city.
