Foreshadowing
28 March - 26 April 2026
Foreshadowing by Sanna Håkans is a series of works based on photographs taken in the 1950s in rural Ostrobothnia. The images come from Sanna’s family archive, black-and-white medium-format photographs. Each photograph is cast into a layer of wax and paraffin blended with color pigment, creating a semi-transparent surface that both conceals and reveals.
The works investigate memory as a shifting, material process that changes over time. Sanna looks at how images from the past are affected by the present—returning to her grandfather’s undeveloped negatives and observing how time has altered them. The underlying post-war optimism in the original photographs appears almost as an unsettling dream in relation to the uncertainty of our contemporary moment. Like memory itself, the works bring forward fragments—gestures and gazes that the artist seeks to rescue from oblivion.

Ouroboros – Landscape of Men
14 February - 15 March 2026
Ouroboros – Landscape of Men by Keijo Laitala explores the complex relationship between humans and nature in Hietasaari, an island district in Oulu, Finland, where urban development and land use pressures are transforming a fragile local environment. Work reflects on cycles of construction, decay, and renewal. Moments when human presence fades and nature slowly reclaims what has been left behind. The project has approached this change in landscape for example from the perspective of trees — silent witnesses, victims and conquerors of continuous change. Between these phases lies a liminal space where abandonment and flourishing coexist, where the traces of history persist as foundations, cellars, artefacts and remnants of vanished lives.
